His book publications include... moreBart Vandenabeele is Professor of Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art at Ghent University. His book publications include A Companion to Schopenhauer (Wiley-Blackwell, 2012, ed.) and The Sublime in Schopenhauer's Philosophy (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015). His main areas of research are aesthetics, the philosophy of Schopenhauer, the philosophy of Kant, and post-Kantian philosophy. He has been a visiting scholar and visiting professor at several universities in Europe, Africa, and the U.S.A., including the University of Oxford, the University of Stellenbosch, and Missouri Western University. He is also a member of the international advisory board of the Schopenhauer-Gesellschaft, a past Vice-Chair of the Philosophy of Communication section of ECREA, associate editor of Empedocles: European Journal for the Philosophy of Communication, and a past Vice-President of the Dutch Association of Aesthetics.edit
